So our longtime bass player, Rob, and our sound person and former manager, Vicky, have sold their house and are moving to South Carolina.  It's a sad, but not entirely.  The empty nesters are fulfilling their long awaited goal of moving to a warmer climate: South Carolina.  Congrats!

I hate/love the fact that Dr. Suess has recently lost so much weight that allies hardly recognize him at gigs.  He looks great! Dr's Suess' pants are loose, but I'm wound up tightly.  Why?  The Fat Guy's Club has lost a charter member, and it's so stressful that I'm tempted to revert to eating melted ice cream out of the garbage.  One day a time, right?

Yearn for those rainy day Saturdays of the 1980's spent lounging on the couch, with a bowl of  Mr. T Cereal, watching seemingly endless music videos on MTV?  They're ba-a-a-a-ck, in a way.  You can't have the cereal anymore (Millennials evidently prefer avocado toast with sriracha), and MTV plays exclusively mind-numbing, profanity-laced reality shows, but the ability to watch an endless video?  Check!   Twenty-One Pilots created a rather innovative music project: An endless video that can be watched…

Frank has a way of planting earworms in people's brains that stay around forever. I guess most talented songwriters do.

I call it this song by Frank's old band, this Inner Ally song, and most recently, the commercial jingle for Lena's Supermarket from the 90's which I never even heard until Frank started singing it every time I complain about what my Cricket phone can't do.  While my brain…

So I had a chance to sneak a recording of one of the new, original songs from Inner Ally's album recording session...sort of. But I'll get to that.  Between bites of tortilla chips (Thanks Chris!), sips of joe, and learning all about the Internets, I went to our #Nondisclosed location recording studio to take a listen. After Frank repeated "Number 9" a few times during sound check, and after Frank's guitar gently weeped for awhile, I wondered if we were going to record songs from the White Album. Apparently not:  The boys in the band (No sign of Katherine or Kathy- Out shopping, ladies?  Groan, I know), recorded a scratch track of "All I Need."  This song was more Rascal Flatts than the Lads from Liverpool.  Is Inner Ally branching out into country music?   We'll see.  I know a family from Bugtussle who might start showing up for our shows if this is the case: 

It's actually a really good song!   Maybe I'll pull out some chaps and boots to take line dancing lessons. Or not.  Frank and Steve wrote this twangy tune eons ago, but it definitely stands up over the years and is ready for prime time. Unfortunately for everyone, Steve couldn't wait to push the stop button on playback, so all I got was a 30 second preview for our allies.
